Human activity has been transforming the planet for millennia. All the ecosystems now bear the mark of human presence, but the scale and speed of change in the last 60 years, called by scientists The Great Acceleration, also led them to name anthropocene this new geological epoch — an era marked by the strong impact of human activities upon the atmospherical and geological evolution of planet earth.
Taipei Biennial 2014 uses this image in order to examine how contemporary art adresses this new contract between human beings, animals, vegetals, machines, products and objects. How does today’s art define and represent our space-time ? The exhibition will highlight the way artists focus on links, chainings, connections and mutations : how they envision planet earth as a huge network, where new states of matter and new forms of relations appear…

Walk through Yuanshan Park Area from YuanShan Station of Tamshui Line, then turn left to ZhongShan N. Road Sec.3. You should arrive here after ten minutes.

The following buses stop at the “Taipei Fine Arts Museum” stop. They are the following bus lines: 21, 42, 126, 203, 208, 218, 220, 247, 260, 277, 287, 279, 310, 612, 677, 1717, 2020, 2022, 9006, Red2, the Zhongshan MainLine, Bo-Ai Bus.
* Bus stop location: in front of the museum(to the north); and at the intersection of Yuanshan Park Area and Zhongshan N. Road., Sec.3(to the south)
* 203, 277, 279, 612,Bo-Ai Bus sign only at the stop to the north.
* Red2, 21,126,and 220 are Low-Floor buses.
BY CAR
Head east on Zhongshan Highway toward Exit YuanShan Interchange and merge onto SongJiang Rd., then turn right onto MinZu E. Rd.. Go straight on and turn right onto ZhongShan N. Rd. Sec.3, you will see TFAM on your right-hand side about a minute after.
FREE PARKING
Free parking for museum's visitors,Opening Hours: Tuesday to Sunday 9:20 am ~ 19:00 pm, Saturday open until 22:00 pm. Closed on Monday.
* On Tuesday to Sunday after 17:15 pm opens only for vehicles out of the parking lot.
