Whispers  on  the  Horizon
地平線上的低吟
born in 1977, Sylhet - lives and works in London

Rana Begum’s site-specific installation No.1511 Mesh uses powder-coated mesh to build layered, amorphous forms. The mesh structure allows color and light to merge, creating a shifting visual landscape that changes with the viewer’s movement and natural lighting throughout the day.

At once monumental and weightless, the installation activates the senses. The layering of permeable forms lets light pass through—like sunshine filtering through a canopy of trees— producing an effect that is both delicate and immersive.

Begum’s work is shaped by her surroundings, drawing on both urban landscapes and traditional Islamic patterns. She uses minimalist abstraction to explore the interplay of color, form, and light.
