WINSON LIN, FLORA Wu & C.W. HUANG
Mobile open-air cinemas were once an extremely important part of Taiwan's film-viewing tradition. Open-air cinemas sometimes appear in front of temples during sacrificial celebrations, and at other times on school campuses. In Taiwan, almost everyone has seen them, but most people have no clear impression of them. The old projectionists running the open-air cinemas have completely faded from people's memories, as if this line of work never existed at all. This film documents the role that open-air cinemas still play in Taiwanese society today.
