Documentary Film Section
CHEN CHIEH-JEN & CHANG YUNG-HO
The Documentary Film Section is conceived as an interdisciplinary project in collaboration between the artist Chen Chieh-jen, and the architect Chang Yung-ho. Chang Yung-ho's installation design is based on the work Camera（see above）, and is intended to break the conventions of the Black Box, used for showing video/film in the museum.
The 16 documentary films depict the political, economic and cultural transformation of Taiwanese society in recent years under the impact of globalization. This includes such topics as employment, housing, urbanization and immigration. Each film is screened in its entirety, while extracts are presented in the lobby of the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, which serves as an introduction and contextualization of the exhibition. -A.C.& B.V.
