Lin Shu-yang spent nearly 35 years in prison - he is one of Asia's political prisoners with the lengthiest periods of incarceration. In 1950, this youth who espoused left-wing ideals was secretly arrested at his home. After the island of Taiwan underwent a series of transformations during the 20th-century, he was finally released from prison in 1984, already an old man. But he did not alter his convictions. Today he serves as director of the Labor Rights Association and honorary chairman of the Labor Party, Taiwan. This film explores the long deprivation and torture he went through during his three and a half ecades of imprisonment.
