After losing their civil war with the Chinese Communists, the Chinese nationalist authorities retreated to Taiwan, and with American military intervention and support, engaged in a full scale campaign of suppres. sion, massacre and coerced confessions against left-wing underground parties and their fellow travelers on Taiwan who resisted their power - regardless of whether they were local ethnic Chinese, indigenous people or mainlanders. This film traces evidence and conducts interviews with some of the survivors of the severe persecution at that time, exploring and bringing to new light this page of history that to this day has been frozen, twisted and buried by rightwing political forces.
