Bartomeu Mari is appointed co-curator of the 2002 Taipei Biennial, which is opened at Taipei Fine Art Museum in November, 2002.

Bartomeu Mari was born in Eivissa, Spain, in 1966. He has previously served as independent curator and writer, a regular contributor to several newspapers and art magazines in Barcelona (1988-1989). He worked as exhibition curator at Fondation pour l'Architecture in Brussels (1989-1993) and as curator at IVAM-Centre Julio Gonzalez, Valencia (1993-1995); and between 1996-2001, he was the director of Witte de With, center for contemporary art in Rotterdam. He was the member of the selection committee for the artistic director of documenta 11 in Kassel; and the author of the Policy Plan for MARCO (Museo de Arte Contemporaneo) VIGO to open in October 2002. He is currently the project leader for the constitution of the International Center for Contemporary Culture in Donostia-San Sebastian.
