Xavier Veilhan was born in 1963 in Lyon, lives and works in Paris, France. In the last two years the artist was working on photo based large tableaux. In this work he gives back to the pictures their previous function: the viewer can find different stories by engaging in the works. This kind of narrativity has its art historical roots in the nineteenth century academic painting. Involving photographs, computer and large scale printing, those images have another connection with some methods of production he is interested in. He started as a painter, but soon he worked more with installations and other spatial works, in which he reproduced specific objects: guns, cars, animals, etc., with different scales, materials and function.
